One of the highlights of GKF's Fundraising Endurance Race was the Girl's solo race, where 7 fantastic girls lined up to complete as many laps as possible in 1 hour. Fantastic efforts were made in 'light and variable winds' by each of the competitors; in particular the top 3, who completed between 36 and 40 laps each! The winner, Anny Barlow who represented Paros Kiteboarding Center on a Best Kahoona, completed 40 laps, which meant she kited for 28km! Anny is extremely excited on winning her first race (normally, she is positioned behind the camera lense for all the good races!).

 

In close 2nd position was Anna Tsakirou, riding Ocean Rodeo who completed 38 laps (26.6km); and in 3rd was Joanna Papadimitriou, riding for Epic Kites, who completed 37 laps (25.9km).

Also taking part were: Paula Rosales, Katerina Stroponiati, Fanny Degeorges and GKF's very own Sandrine. 

 

Paula Rosales, riding for Cabrinha, had to withdraw half-way through the race after an old shoulder injury pulled her out of action. She was tied with the leaders of the race at the time, so we look forward to seeing a re-match soon.

 

Thanks to Quiksilver Greece, each participant received a lovely wallet; and Anny won a perfect goodie-bag full of Roxy surprises; and a free wakeboarding set thanks to Ntrl High!
