- Ilias Katirtsigianoglou, Kiter
Ilias was born in Athens in 1978. He studied mechanical engineering in the UK and worked for different conglomerates across Europe. He is now working in the renewable energy industry and enjoys kite surfing in his spare time. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2009 and since then underwent different chemo treatments and operations. He now enjoys an active lifestyle and his personal aspiration through this crossing is to support people in need and send a message of encouragement and empowerment to people affected by cancer.
- Spyridon Sofianos, Sailor
Spyros was born in Turin, Italy in 1980. His mother is Australian and his father is Greek.. He studied mechanical engineering in Patras & Athens. He has worked in education and at freelance as mechanical engineer. He is now working in the renewable energy industry and enjoys snowboarding & sailing in his spare time. A few people inside his family have suffered or are still suffering from cancer. His personal aspiration through this crossing is to support people in need.

Andreas, 44, is a reporter of the German magazine Stern, based in Athens: "I appreciate that in these days there are also people who think not only of themselves but also care for problems of others. This is something optimistic, what you can't support enough."
- Nikos Issaiades, Kiter
Born in Athens in 1978, Nikos is an extreme sports enthusiast and gadget freak. Father of a beautiful daughter Kristy, has been kiting almost 10 years now…always as a kite fan never as a pro. The sea is what relaxes him and charges his batteries. His other passion is Victorinox Swiss Army Knifes which he is privileged to work with promoting sales in Greece. School mate of Ilias, when they met up again after years and was told about the crossing he immediately said “Let’s do it”.

23 year old Dimitris is from Volos, Greece. "I have been kiting for 4 years now and am a pro kiter, riding for F-One and Mystic. I am happy to take part in this challenge because I love this sport and want to help in anyway I can. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community through our sport. nikos athanasiou

Aris is 38 years old, born in Greece. He is an outdoor sports enthusiast and is passionate about exploring the natural forces. His elements are the sea and mountains. Aris is happy to join the team for the Crossing and to offer a drop of hope to people in need; to show that everything is possible if you believe in it. The ultimate target is to inspire people suffering from a disease or a disability to get up, go out and enjoy nature the best way you can and to cultivate the “Everything is Possible” spirit.

- Zacharias Daniilakis, Kayaker
Born in 1972 living in Piraeus , being a shipbroker and a major fun of all kind of sports and activities with the last 3 years an addict to White Water Kayak. Exploring mainly Greek rivers all around the country. For the cause we believe that by participating will make at least one person to think about it in a positive way this might be a spark for further action and assistance to people who really need it .
- Dimitris Kokkoris, Kayaker
Born in London in 1976, Dimitris is a design & print communication specialist and a social entrepreneur. He is a partner of Dot Repro S.A., a creative print service & digital printing provider, and of Cannibals Kayak House, the leading kayak shop in Greece. He is a founding member of Young Leaders, the Hellenic Young Entrepreneurs Association, and a Board member of the Costeas-Geitonas Alumni Association. Dimitris is passionate about outdoor sports and has been an all-round athlete since a very young age. Through creativity, passion, social responsibility, team work and lots of courage, he believes that every single human being has the power to make a difference, today, right now!
- Stavros Georgarakis, Kayaker
Stavros was born in Komotini in 1967. He is now married with a 10 year old son. His passion and love has always been the water. He has sailed as an athlete and as a skipper around most of the Greek Islands, the Ionian and the Aegean Sea. Stavros is a pioneer of kayaking in Greece. He is the founder and owner of Cannibals Kayak House, one of the leading kayak shops in Europe since 1997. Although he spends most of his time around the shop and his business ventures, he can never resist to a few hours of action in the water with friends, especially when a greater good is meant to happen. Stavros believes that investing time to create hope, strength and give help to people in need, is what makes us human.
- Christos Geitonas, Kayaker
Christos was born in Athens in 1981. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Warwick and has worked with Citigroup in London, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Monaco. In 2004 he left banking and began a career in education at Costeas-Geitonas School in Athens. His passion are sports of any kind and participates in marathon and triathlon races; he loves free diving and sea kayaking around the Greek islands with his friends. He lost someone very close to him a few years ago to cancer. He strongly believes that through education people are able to contribute to the world in a creative and meaningful way, and this crossing is an excellent way of showing how it can be done.

Lambros Protopapas, Kiter
Lambros was born in Athens in 1972. He studied Computer Engineering and Informatics at university of Patras. He is working as a software engineer in the banking sector. He has a strong passion in kite surfing which he enjoys during the whole year under various weather and sea conditions. His father died of cancer exactly a year ago and he wants to honor his memory by participating in this crossing.
